the cat whisperer
he lives across the street. And he walks his cats or rather lets the cats stroll around the yard on a fairly regular basis. It is really amazing the cats seem very well behaved and content to traipse around the front yard with no real evidence that they would bolt off. Cars don't seem to bother them and even the time Oscar managed to escape the fence they just hung out and ignored him. Oscar of course ran off to roam the neighborhood..he's a social sort of pup.

Until recently, my mother would let her cat (she now only has 1, but she used to have 4) roam around her postage-stamp-sized back yard, attached to a leash and harness. None of the felines seemed to mind except this new one. He's terrified of absolutely everything and Mom thinks the harness and leash scared him so now she lets him roam the backyard on his own, but only if she's out there puffing away on her Winstons.
She makes me nuts, but I love her anyway! :)
