from date one D has always closed the car door for me and 13 years later I still find it novel and sweet.
C is following in daddy's footsteps and has started to get my door for me whenever he can, it is cute a hell and will get him in good with the chicks later..not that I want any of those floozies around my precious baby boy

where are my damn keys?
let me start by saying I tend to be a creature of habit my cell phone, sunglasses and yes car keys tend to get tossed in 1 of 2 maybe 3 places when I come in the door, when it's time to go I know where to find my junk.
D is doing his very best to drive me batty. Over Easter weekend he was filling in working 3rd shift, when he is not home at night I gather my purse, car keys etc and leave it by the bed so I know where to find it in a hurry. (I don't know why I just do...) The first night he had just left, I was just getting my cold and felt like crap started searching for my keys so I could go to bed. Nope not anywhere I leave them normally, called D had he seen them no no he had not. As I frantically tore through the house in search of the phone rings oh well D didn't see them because they were in his ignition. His keys were in his jacket, luckily we did not need to dash to Walmart at 3 in the morning for shampoo because we would have had to walk.
Flash forward to this morning-I had let C sleep in a smidge as I would drive him in he of course was in zombie mode running slower than I would have liked-got to get into the drop off lane at the right minute or you sit in traffic forever at the school! Again no keys anywhere to be found I am running around like an idiot tearing into bags, my purse all the while trying to get C to finish getting dressed, brush his teeth you know basic hygiene and all. D was just getting up so I burst into the bedroom turning on lights "oh I'm sorry I had them I was checking tire pressure/fluids on your car but I put your keys back" well no they were in him pants in the spare room
I can get to crazy all by myself mister I don't need your help.

weather update
I thought is supposed to rain all day? It's gorgeous out there but I guess the torrential down pour can start anytime now-the local newspaper is portending doom & gloom just shy of suggesting stocking up on toilet paper, milk, bread & eggs. That will of course cancel the baseball game for tonight I do however already know that this makeup game will be on Sunday. It changes the afternoon as well we were going to go to the early Tae Kwan Do class, Wendy's for dinner then off to the ballpark. Now we can go to regular Tae Kwan Do and eat not fast food for dinner which may or may not cause an insurrection with the boy but he will deal.
I went ahead and checked the weather for C's first communion as we are having a gathering at the house and luckily the forecast is for brilliant sunshine. not just sunshine but brilliant sunshine.

meme for a rainy Tuesday
so I got tagged last week twice in fact by Missy thought I'd try and catch up today-
Name one thing you do every day: Drink coffee. Probably 3 or more cups a day and none of that foo foo double latte mocha frap blah blah blah I like real coffee-leaded please please I'm not sure what the point of decaf is...
Name 5 things/people that make you feel good: the family-my beloved D, goofy son C and even goofier pug Oscar, chocolate anything, clean sheets on the bed, a really hot shower and talking on the phone with my mommy(who I get to see in less than 2 weeks yay!)
Name 4 things you love to eat but rarely do: lobster, veal-come on our budget can not support that sort of menu, a really good cannoli-not enough Italians in K-town, good pumpernickel bagels(same as previous but with Jewish folks)
Name 3 things that remind you of childhood: Je Rivien perfume although my mother may be the only person in America that wore it and even she has moved on to Chanel, Sunday breakfast, board games
Name 2 things you wish you could learn: German and how to make my mother's pot roast
1 down & 1 to go and I'll tag anyone who feels like mulling this over this morning!

we gotta find another paw print, that's the second clue
First Communion talk turned to the really important yesterday the ordering of the cake. C decided he wanted a Jesus cake and honestly my first thought was what a Jesus shaped cake sort of like the Blue's Clues cake you had for your 3rd birthday? I know I know I was waiting for the lightning bolt too...
I let C know we could get a nice cake with a cross perhaps & God Bless C on it and that was approved, the kind of cake I wanted to get was however not. I was thinking a nice yellow cake some sort of butter cream and a strawberry filling(ok yes this is my favorite kind) and then getting some chocolate cupcakes for the kiddies. Oh no that would not do-it is "after all my First Communion mommy" so chocolate cake with white frosting is what I will be ordering.
Then I started thinking about Blue's Clues it was his absolute all time favorite show in the whole wide world for several years. At around 2 we noticed him carrying around a rattle he had largely ignored and a soft cover little toddler photo album with a handle and my astute niece pointed out he was playing Blue's Clues. Blue's Clues indeed. He played for close to 2 years constantly! The official merchandise was annoying and needed "fixing" every 5 minutes which did not work to well for me so I started buying him his very own notebooks and crayons which he brought everywhere. It was in fact one of those things that extra notebooks would be in the car, my purse you name it I kind of wonder if there isn't still one or two still floating around the house somewhere
