why yes I am just talking to hear myself talk

I believe we have hit the hard of hearing tween/teen years with C.
He has a big end of the year project involving reading a biography, further research of biography's subject, writing a speech about said person and some sort of visual poster type thing and a costume of some kind to represent this person. After some dithering back and forth George Washington Carver was chosen, a book procured & I asked C to start reading a couple of chapters at a time while taking copious notes to assist in the rest of the project. After the first few chapters I suggested he might try to take better more detailed notes of the chapters
"yes Mom"
Naturally the note taking did not get much better. The first installment of the project, a series of questions to aid in the speech is due next Tuesday. I asked that he begin to start filling that out, in his notebook so we could go over it before it got put to paper. Of course he started writing it on the paper directly and already two questions in I need to buy white out...do they still make white out? Not to mention he did not even touch the stuff till I walked in the door and asked him why he was not working on it.
At some point I needed to dash out & pick something up just as David texted in instructions for C to take care of some general household cleaning duties. C was concerned which should he do first? I told him do chores then get back to his project. I must have been a little short & exasperated with him because while I was out he sent "I am sorry" text. I replied that it was fine he just need to make sure his chores & school work were always done before tv time.
And I swear I could not make this up C texted me back "does this mean I can watch tv now?'
NO work on your project
*sigh*

does anyone still check their messages?

I must admit I frequently do not, most of the time I just return the phone call. And with certain folks I have stopped leaving messages knowing full well they won't listen to it but instead just return my call directly. There is someone I work with who not only will leave one message no no he leaves 2, first on a home phone leaving an extremely over-detailed message then calling cell phone & leaving the very same detailed message there as well a little bit over overkill if you ask me. Which would also be the reason he is not in possession of my cell phone number.

not a morning person

not that this is new information or anything I am considering the fact that I need a new system for the morning routines. It took me over an hour to make lunches & breakfast for the family, including the dog (he only got breakfast no pb & jelly for Oscar) and then getting myself & C out the door (he is not a morning person either, again not a news flash). I prefer a coffee filled and maybe some catching up on facebook time while watching the news to ease into my day. It would seem I have always been doomed to these tasks as back in the day getting my brother & myself squared away & out the door when my mother went back to work so many years ago. Of course I would lay a lot of it out the night before so it took less thought & effort. We seemed to eat chicken roll or chicken loaf for lunch, a lot & the thought makes me a little queasy what in the heck was it made of? Chicken should not come in loaf form. Anywho I need to take some time at the end of the evenings and organize my assembly line so my mornings can be spent with a little more goof off time.

if everyone jumps off the Brooklyn Bridge....

evidently I will too but I'll wait a bit before diving like several weeks maybe. I had avoided angry birds and everything to do with them until this weekend I am now addicted to the flipping stupid game!!
