D scored some tickets for Bristol tomorrow so the boys are off to the racetrack for the day. C is of course over the moon about going to the race. D got 3 tix but is taking along one of his friends, I must admit I would have liked to go however that said D's buddy is a race fan and will enjoy the ticket far more than I would. Not to mention a day to myself always novel and welcome!
agenda for the day?
-go back to bed after getting boys out the door
-catch up on DVR'd shows
-movies? In Bruges got a recommend and I have been wanting to see it
-lunch
-couch shopping
-trip to the book store
-a nap?
the possibilities are endless

coffee pots
I am a coffee drinker and have been from a young age. My grandmother would spoon feed me when I was a toddler and growing up I was allowed a cup on Sunday mornings by middle school it was an every morning sort of thing-maybe this is why I am not any taller than I am?
We got a nice pot as a wedding gift wow 12 years ago now that we have used off an on throughout the marriage. Every now and again we have bought a new pot that does not seem to work out one leaked and who needs to deal with that first thing in the a.m., then there was the one that you could set the night before but it frequently lost time and you would have to work out a calculus problem to figure out what time to set so it would not brew at 3 am., the percolator was fine but too much of a hassle as was the french press. Each time the fall back has been the Krups pot but I am thinking it is time to put it out to pasture it is just gunky & grimy the kind of gunk & grime that does not seem to clean. Plus frequently in the evenings as I get it ready for the next day I am not paying attention and hit the start button-brewing a pot that winds up down the drain-and not saving myself any time in the morning. I guess it's off to Beth Bath & Beyond this evening....
I did order a camping coffee press on ebay yesterday-really can not camp without caffeine and the cheapo camping pot I got last year sucked big time but it'll be ok for boiling the water.

homework
not really a big fan but I understand it is a necessary evil, I suppose. C has been fortunate thus far his teachers have not been big in the homework department. I know he is only in second grade but his little friend who is the same age & lives next door had regular homework even last year in first grade. I can think of only maybe once this year he had homework. My concern is the possible shock next year when he gets something ridiculous like 2 hours a night or more.
He did come home with an assigned project due after spring break. The kids have pick an animal and do a little index card report on where the animal lives, what it eats etc. the best part is the accompanying diorama! I loved dioramas! what fun! Being the good mommy I am I have done my part and bought a new pair of shoes so he can have a nice new box to work with.

diagnose me
so is the neck pain meningitis or just random stiff neck?
the interweb is a bad place I really am not a hypochondriac all evidence to the contrary...

lottery
alas I did not win this weekend, if I had I would have hired someone to write my blog for me, maybe outsourced to India?
I actually played for a change in my foray out to get Chinese food Saturday I decided to waste a few bucks on the powerball and did not win sadly...but that just means I will win more on Wed when I win.
I was amazed to be behind someone who bought $87 worth of tickets a mix of scratch offs & I suppose powerball now I am not above wasting a few bucks but 87?
