it's a kuchen..no really

I am befuddled nothing new but anywho the annual money maker for my son's school is well soon in fact. I was glancing over the "you promised us you'd bake something so what are you baking sheet" that came home in the backpack and it would seem that there is an international theme and they are requesting desserts of the world...
come on I don't have time for this nonsense so you know that lovely spice cake I make it's now it's a German spice kuchen...hmm brownie in french is still brownie according to the English-French dictionary online so we are good there and well finally the Brits do call cookies biscuits so a batch of biscuits and I will be all set for my international flair!
but does anyone know Swahili for cupcake?

glimpsing into the teenage years

and I DO NOT like what I see.....
Should we be looking at military school? the French foreign legion? or just sell him to gypsies?

did you invent the wheel too?

increasingly C comes home with a new joke or "trick" you know like sneezing a word or something equally hilarious that he is claiming as his own or one of his friends. You know the stuff that was going on when we were in grammar school. Not exactly ground breaking stuff going on but hysterical to a 3rd grader. However last night he came to me requesting pancakes & sausage next weekend and this great new chocolate paste you can buy at Target..The child was trying to tell ME about nutella....
new?! ha! as if buddy but yes Mommy will pick some up for this weekend.

this is how is starts

separate rooms and then before you know it....yes David has moved into the spare room. Only temporarily although I have been giving him crap about it all weekend! Our mattress has seen better days and with his extreme back & neck problems we really should have purchased a new bed well before this week but we didn't, so he has taken up residence in the spare room which has a very comfy twin bed until the new mattress arrives hopefully sometime this week.
Oddly enough his snoring is louder from the spare room than when he is lying right next to me making it harder to smother him with a pillow. On the up side of things he did wake up well rested & not in pain this morning so I suppose we will just have separate bedrooms for a few days.
