camping

My view of camping has always been a hotel without room service, a view happily shared by hubby. Somehow we are going real camping at the end of April with a group of friends. Real in as far as it is considered "car camping" pull your car into camp site. I am oddly looking forward to it and actually trying to figure out how we got talked into going.Connor is beside himself with the very idea of a tent. It must be a boy thing I remember my younger brother really digging his tent, it the deep wilds of our front yard.

just in the nick of time

more than once I'll decide I can wait to fill the car up until morning to find gas prices have risen over night. This morning I decided to fill up just as the little worker went out to the marquee to increase the gas prices by 7 cents, so glad I stopped!

ice cream

What sort of kid does not like ice cream? My weirdo son that's who! He likes ice cream sandwiches & even the occasional popsicle but not a regular old bowl of ice cream. So I thought I'd try again but this time we would go to Cold Stone Creamery, one of my personal favorites, he could pick some mix-in's very exciting stuff. We go and he picks out mint ice cream with gummie bears & snickers, I questioned him on the snickers as I have never seen him eat one but was assured that he did indeed like them. Ok he picks the gummie bears out & eats them and that's it, "I don't really like the ice cream" maybe he was switched at the hospital...

sleeplessness

It is not unusual to find me asleep in chair around 8 or 9 on a Sat. evening but when I HAVE to go to bed early, I'm as wide awake as can be. Why is that? And why do people leave their porch light on all night? especially in this neighborhood? not exactly a high crime part of town-at least as far as I know, will need to check the police blotter in the Farragut weekly news this week. Why do people leave their dogs out all night so they can bark and wake me up? And why does my Green Day addicted son need to put his CD on repeat every night? So I was up at 3.30 a.m. for inventory at one of the stores, a necessary evil but I HATE inventory. The only one in my 9 million years of retail that I managed to get out of was the one when I totaled my car at 7 months of pregnancy and had to spend 4 days in the hospital, a little dramatic perhaps but I did get out of that inventory..Anyway I am tired and a little cranky so I think it may be bed time!
