last week a this time

I was watching Sex & The City. Girl's night out was much fun!!! With the expected crowds cosmo hour was dropped from the schedule so I did not miss anything. There have been many many articles, blogs etc written about the film so I will just leave it at
-enjoyed the film
-if you watched and enjoyed the show go see the movie it's good
-I think every woman in Knoxville was downtown to the film
-every woman was dressed to see the film it was fantastic!
After the movie we headed to the Melting Pot for an abbreviated experience-just the cheese & chocolate. Now don't get me wrong I like the entire fondue experience but cheese & chocolate are the best parts of the meal and it was a perfect way to end the evening.
I was actually out past midnight-crazy for me now that I'm in my dotage...
Tonight well tonight I am doing homework and probably it'll be past midnight before I finish....

need a curtain there

on the kitchen window Oscar, superpug extraordinaire, positions himself so he can see the back door open as well as look in the picture window just in case someone walks by and has forgotten he is still outside in which case he gives you that pitiful woe is me nobody loves me sort of look that he has perfected

have a holly jolly....

christmas????
we got the first of the 2009 calendars in at work today
I'm sure the prebooks for christmas CDs are not so far behind....
it's still June right?

idiot drivers

I am fortunate to have a schedule that generally has me back in our little hamlet of Farragut by the time rush hour starts-alright so no it's not really a hamlet but my point is by the time rush hour hits I am generally speaking about around town driving not the interstate.
With school in the evenings twice a week I am finding myself venturing into rush hour traffic-it's not far from the house or anything but the idiotic drivers are plentiful...
If someone is drifting over into your lane guaranteed they are talking on their cell phone..
Yesterday there was an unnecessary slow down near a car wreck. It was not blocking traffic at all and there was no ambulance present so no blood or dead bodies on the side the road and yet the idiot in front of me came to an almost screeching halt. Thank God I was paying attention or I would have screeching halted myself right into the back of their car. In this day and age when you can log onto the inner-web and view thousands of car accidents on you tube why rubber neck?
and honestly my first thought was there is no car wreck for me because no f**king way I can miss class like ever this summer or I will be totally confused as opposed to moderately confused as I am now

politics for the day

regardless of party affiliation or your choice within that party last night was pretty freakin' amazing! Won't it be nice when it isn't historical moment for a woman or a black man to be running for president?

cranky and whiney this morning

oh me not the kid.
You know an hour is a lot of time when you wake up at 4.45 instead of 5.45 which is when your alarm is set and today is one of your really long days
I don't like waking up because the house is hot
I got up and still bumbled my way through getting ready and did not really make it in early or as early as I could have by getting up at 5 am
my allergies have kicked into overdrive or I have a summer cold either way I am sick of blowing my nose
it is just hot at work the building is old the air conditioning is antiquated in fact the office are not exactly air conditioned
and my day has not even really started yet...should be a doozie

R.S.V.P.

well we are back here again.
C's birthday party is Saturday and I have only had a handful of RSVP's
so far his party is 1 confirmed no and 3 confirmed yes giving us 4 kids we can have up to 25.. Granted I put tomorrow down as the deadline I am hoping we get a few more responses-either way need to know yes or no it is so rude and it drives me crazy I tell ya-yes yes short trip and all I know. I even included an email address along with the phone # to maybe life easier but no. i always RSVP for kids parties yes or no ugh!!!

maybe it won't kill me

so after my first class last week I was very demoralized and completely overwhelmed.
doing the homework almost all day Sunday did not improve my disposition regarding Probability & Statistics.
Yes I know I am intelligent or I use to be a long time ago yes I have an aunt & mother who teach the course but ultimately no matter how much help they provide it is still just me sitting in that classroom with a test. If I don't understand the right answers do not matter.
After class last night I did not think my head would explode with information I did not understand. I did not feel like bursting into tears. Improvements over last week and I felt a little bit like maybe I could survive and pass the class which honestly is all I am shooting for at this point just passing-uncharacteristic of my academic life previously but goals change-improvise, adapt, overcome and all that(no, no Marines in the family I evidently have watched Heartbreak Ridge a few too many times)

R.I.P. Yves

no I am not wearing couture I don't even know if I could afford writing the word couture but that does not mean I have not drooled over it for many many years starting with the weekly viewing of Style with Elsa Klensch on CNN in the early 80's.
Yves St Laurent was always my favorite I could afford the perfume and lipstick but that was about all plus I did manage to see a retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum again early 80s.
he was younger than I thought-a loss to the world of fashion

dear dumb drivers

when it's this foggy out you turn your headlights on so other people can see you
thanks much
