how I know we won't have any snow whatsoever this season

MIL bought the kiddo not 1 but 2 new sleds just this weekend, guaranteeing we will not see any significant snow this year.

twists & turns of middle school

I saw something about a middle school dance held just after school and as C had not mentioned a word about to me & I asked if was planning on going as money & a permission slip were required. I was given a very terse and very quick "I am not going and don't want to discuss this matter" response. Naturally my first inclination was oh quit being silly this stuff is fun I am going to make you go. Obviously not a stellar parenting decision so while I entertained the thought I did let the entire matter drop. Imagine my surprise at the frantic phone call from school Friday asking for money & a signature for the dance the same day. Thankfully MIL handled it for me including spending money so he could buy pizza. Reports back were that C took no part in actual dancing but played basketball with friends the entire time and did indeed have fun!

little helping of bitter this morning

some folks just do not get social media

no matter how hard you try to explain it to them!
Yesterday I was trying to explain something to a certain albatross and my logical argument was countered with
"well I took an economics class and a psychology class so I do understand and it will not work"
of course these individual classes were taken some 30+ years ago so I am betting against his understanding.....

ramen noodles should be their own food group

I am sure they are horrible for you, quite honestly I don't look at the nutrional values on it because I really just don't want to know exactly how much sodium I am consuming, but they are super cheap, super easy and sometimes they just hit the spot

maybe you aren't as hungry as you thought

C decided he was hungry & was going to fix himself a snack I pointed out that I was just about to cook dinner but he could help himself to grapes or grapes, he chose to wait till dinner was ready

using his stern voice

C found himself locked out of the house yesterday afternoon-it's what happens when you leave your keys in your coat in the closet inside the house, but I digress, the "system" failed and he had trouble getting a hold of anyone right away but it all worked out fine with little muss & fuss I was amused listening to my voice mail this morning to hear his "As soon as you get this message I need you to call me the FLIP back"
bwahahaha sadly I hit delete before I had time to think hey this is funny I need to save this voice mail

the family picture conundrum

It has been many years since we have had a family portrait, maybe only 3 years or so but the kid changes almost on a daily basis so this is something we should do more frequently. David has agreed so it is on me to settle in on a appointment except I still have no hair so I am unsure I really want a family picture just now. I could wear a wig I suppose, I have 2 and I wear one to the p/t job as a necessity but in the rest of my everyday life I wear hats and I am more comfortable with hat wearing me. And at the end of the day this is me my hair loss is not such a big deal, for the most part although sometimes I do get twingy & really really miss having a head full of hair. Guess I need to suck it up & just make an appointment huh?!

I do not sniff the kiddo's clothes to see if they are dirty I just throw them in the laundry

why no access to twitter could be a good thing

p/t job has no computer/phone access thank goodness because this would have probably been my timeline earlier this week


-5 hour shift easy peasy
-should have brought more coffee
-lord it is boring working alone
-is it too early to break
-are there enough people working that I can take a break
-only 3 hours & 45 minutes to go
-where are all the customers
-I may have to break down & dust
-a 5 hour shift with only a 15 min break
-I brought a snack bar with me to register should I eat is now?
-sounds like other side of store is busy
-send some customers my way!
-2 hours & 54 minutes to go
-a project or two done
-10:10 reminds me of the radio station up north 1010 wins
-still no break
-getting busier
-music loop is awful
-1 hour 34 minutes
-oh good gravy busy
-finally end of shift never got a break but at least last hour was busy
-now off to other job
-fun fun
