the town crier

twice in the last week I was asked how I was feeling as I had been sick, these were folks I do not know well enough to have told about any kind of sickness. I had a day where I had eaten something that did not particularly agree we me and we will leave it at that. Evidently MIL had been sharing my ailment to what detail I have no idea and I do not want to know.

the bendy straw

growing up that was the standard of sickness. You would get ginger ale with a bendy straw that was the only time you would have access to bendy straw at the house so of course same goes in my household. In spite of current circumstances we really do not have much cause for the use of bendy straws but we always seemed to have several boxes on hand just in case, in case of what I am not sure but with the near constant weird medical oddities David has suffered recently we have almost exhausted our bendy straw supplies, guess I'll need to add that to this week's grocery list and here is to hoping they will sit in a kitchen cupboard unopened & unneeded for quite some time!

probably not very PC of me me but

I am particularly cranky today, overly cranky& it would seem and lot is getting under my skin a lot that should probably not. So very cranky that I even had to stop and asked my self good grief is it PMS?

early warning system

at 4:21ish this morning I got woken up with the news that C heard a train sound and was that a tornado so should we all pile into the bathroom....however this train sound was indeed um just a train we live close enough to to tracks to hear trains all the time. Thanks to my my budding meteorologist for looking out for us!

"good idea Mom"

why thanks C I was really looking for that affirmation from you...but guess what I knew it was a good idea when I said it and even if you didn't agree you were still gonna have to do it whatever it was I asked you to do

travels with a toddler

Niece #1 and her 2 yr old son are hopping a plane to Kville this week and it had me remembering travelling with C as a toddler. I should preface with he has always been a pretty good traveller thank God but he had a moment or two that gave me fits way back when. Now that I think about it it the only issues we had were a trip to CT when he was 3. David (who was staying at home and working while we went to see my folks) for some unknown at this time reason booked my flight for me it was booked such that I had one half hour to change planes in Atlanta..um yeah that would be 30 minutes..have you ever changed planes in ATL?! of course you have everything changes in ATL and I stand by my assertion that when you die you go through in ATL. Let me tell you dragging a rather large 3 year old toddler who was a little cranky through any airport is gonna be a challenge. We barely made our flight & I believe I cursed my husband the entire way to CT. The return trip involved a two hour car trip to the airport so invariably C fell asleep when we arrived a the airport he was cranky, crying, hanging off my shirt tales so to speak, I check our luggage and dude informs me that our bag is overweight. Through clenched teeth I told him to just damn charge me the difference and sensing that I might just snap he kindly put the bag through with no charge

causing road rage

yeah I did I was so not paying attention and cut someone off on the interstate got a typical response a horn honk and a gesture with his finger. ok fine I deserved as much it was a bonehead move on my part, but how do you convey sorry my bad? waving seems a bit odd & I don't know that he would have seen my shrug my shoulders so I just went about my business. In order to make his point he had to get on my right side and flash me another bird as he drove by...whatever dude yes I was wrong, I got you're mad at me take a deep breath let it go. No no as he was about to exit off he had to roll down his window and flash me the bird one last time, at that point I started laughing which was kinda nice I needed a good laugh for a change.

ways to drive me crazy

#241 not answering texts or phone calls...
seriously my dear husband you are in a hospital bed what else do you have to do but respond to the occasional text or a phone call?

I'm not exactly a good Catholic

but I do not consider mcnuggets to be real meat so I get a pas on the Ash Wednesday transgression for lunch...the roast in the crock pot for dinner is however a different story

and while we are talking vacation

I had really hoped to take the megabus to DC over spring break in fact I had almost bought tickets a few months back I mean come on what a deal 3 of us travel to DC for only under $10? how totally awesome is that? But alas the current "oh God what's wrong now?" state of affairs has us not traveling for spring break of course in all fairness we generally don't travel for spring break we are not those people I'd like to be but in the real world we can't drop everything and go on vacation several times a year but wouldn't it be nice? I am hoping we can work out the DC trip sometime within the next year there is so much to do & see there not least of all is a restaurant owned by top chef contestant that I would like to try plus several that Anthony Bourdain spotlighted on his show. And quite frankly I love museums & historical stuff so DC is right up my alley!
