how hard is it to get some gas?

for me the answer would have to be very this week.
attempt #1 about 3-4 gallons in the pump reads error and stops okay fine but I am not going to play pull around and try another pump it'll do for now
attempt #2 the gas station is I suppose going out of business all of the pumps are covered
attempt #3 at a grocery store tried and tried and tried to get my shopping card to scan so I could save 10 cents that didn't work so tried and tried and tried just to get gas but the evil machine wanted my shopping card information finally I caved & went to the clerk as instructed by evil machine. 87 year old clerk cannot help from booth but must shuffle over to the pump and try and try and try to get my shopping card to scan it does finally I begin to pump gas just after the first gallon goes in the handle or something breaks and no gas will pump. I drive away in disgust
attempt #4 successful & I was finally able to fill the tank

feeling left out

I might be the only blogger in K-town to have not blogged about the gas gouging going on here in tow...oops not any longer.
Hot on the heels on the sky is falling method of pricing can we expect the same at the grocery stores when Mr Howell calls for a flake or two of snow?
I don't know that I am prepared to pay $8 for a loaf of bread or $10 for a gallon of milk

cost of things

yes gas prices are high. D & I tend to play musical cars in the summer & he usually takes care of getting gas so luckily I can go weeks will out having to fill up either car. Happily I might add it is painful watching how much it all costs. But have I stopped driving or for that matter even cut back on my driving? no what is it that I can cut out? going to work? school? the grocery store? taking kid to ccd? baseball? tae kwan do? None of it can be dropped. I do try to combine trips and at the behemoth of Turkey Creek park in a central location and walk although generally speaking quite honestly I only go to one store ok yes it's Target(I can't help myself I'm addicted).
Where it seems to hurt us the most is at the grocery store. Prices have gone up and it seems like we are spending double what we were even at the beginning of the year. Of course the fact that the boy is eating us out of house and home doesn't help matters. I do what I can to cut costs-coupon shop, check the weekly fliers but it's just expensive these days! I know I said this last summer but I really want to do a garden well I suppose next year at this point. It's not cheap to eat healthily but we are trying!
