yeah my car would be the first one they pick

out running errands yesterday and made eye contact with an older gentleman climbing off his motorcycle and it was one of those moments you just know he is gonna talk to you and sure enough he asks me if I just locked my car. Since he saw me hit my key and heard the honk it was kinda of a dumb question but he continued on that I should not lock my car in that manner because someone could be in the parking lot with a device that could copy the code and break into my car & steal stuff. Personally if they are going to break into my car I would prefer they not break a window so stealing the code an improvement, not much to steal however, the towel the dog slobbered on when I took him to the vet last week? empty coffee cup I have been to lazy to throw out? some nasty fries the kid dropped? the sweater I left in the car because the weather can't decide what season this is yet? please feel free to take what you want. Of course out of all the cars in the parking lot there were quite a few that were much nicer & newer than mine so I am seriously doubting mine would be the first choice in the grand scheme of larceny. Little old man just came across as creepy not so much helpful.

it's the soap all over again

one of the first hotel visits with C as a toddler brought forth some hilarity when we reached the wash your hands point....he had never seen a bar of soap before, well not one to wash your hands with I have had decorative soaps but at the house we only have liquid soap for functional purposes.
Last night David sent C out to roll up in the window in the car he has borrowed from his brother while we play musical cars, yup a hand crank roll up the window and it did in fact take C a few minutes and a second trip out to the car to complete the task.

happy to have dodged that bullet

we have a touch of snow around for the past day or so and as luck would have it David drove me into work this morning..only one of the cars is all wheel drive...while we were gone the neighbor had a mishap trying to get out and slid into our driveway exactly right where our car had been parked. Thankfully we didn't have that hassle to deal with!

quit beeping at me already

I am so tired of the cars beeping when I lock them, when I unlock them, when I open the trunk...
KNOCK IT OFF
I pressed the button I know I unlocked, locked or opened the trunk that was my intention

road tripping

OMG I still detest long car rides and am dreading the one just days away..ugh trapped like a sardine for hour and hours upon end...loathe!!! I am on the flip side really looking forward to seeing most of my family this weekend and grateful my mother will have her kids & grandkids with her on mother's day this year!

going to have to be honest here

while I miss my parents terribly and hate living 800+ miles away from them and hate not being able to spend most holidays with them quite frankly I am grateful not to be shoved into a car for 12+ hours today on the return trip from CT. I hate that trip with a passion I am not a fan of the road trip or rather any road trip that lasts longer than well to be honest more than 4 hours...any much more than that and I would rather poke sticks in my eye
that being said I would happily have packed the car & headed to spend the holiday with them..it sucks living this far from my folks

calling shotgun

well not really we only have 1 kid he kind of gets it by default.... C has ever so slowly wormed his way from the occasional jaunt to the grocery store to sitting in the front seat all the time and it's fine except it puts him in reach of the stereo and I have no place for all my crap you know purse, cell phone, water bottle, which ever bags I happen to be toting along that day, inconvient I tell 'ya.
