seperation of church and state
religion is a personal thing it does not belong in the public school system and here is an excellent opinion on the subject from missy it is a must read!

Thanks for the kudos. I know my opinion isn't everybody's, but I think my point was made for me in the comments over at Knoxville Talks yesterday. Some person of the cranial-rectal inversion persuasion said that we were 78.4% christian and thus only the Christian credo should be made a part of schools/churches/government. I believe that until that number is 100% then as a free country it is our government's duty according to the laws of our constitution to protect the rights of the few against the overwhelming force of the many. And to the bs about our laws being based on the bible, not true. Actually our laws are rooted firmly in the written record of English Common Law. That's been proven time and again, but evangelicals don't want to hear that. Just like they don't want to hear that they need to teach their religion their way in their home. Keep it out of my house, my teachings, and my life. But again, here in God's Country, that's not too popular. Oh well, didn't start doing this to win any popularity contests.
people are mostly stupid-ok maybe it just seems that way a lot.. I don't have a problem with religion taught in school as long as it is a PRIVATE school! Hell it seems that down here in God's country being Catholic isn't quite considered being Christian & yes shocking one of my friends actually heard that comment If C was dragged to that little character building exercise I would have been downat that school so fast the principal's head would have spun
