laziest weekend ever

didn't do much of anything this weekend it was nice! Did some laundry, D vacuumed I think but other than that we napped, watched bad t.v., listened to music, fed C several times that boy can eat! Didn't grocery shop, cook, run around to ball games, birthday parties or any other ferrying of the boy around town. Well we did attend C's baseball party at the local park which has the sprinkler/splash pad sort of thing which he always enjoys.

Star Wars

so I was watching Star Wars(IV, my original) the other night for literally like the millionth time we recently let Connor watch Star Wars I & I guess I have seen bits & pieces of II & III, but I was curious Obi One doesn't recall owning droids, maybe not owning but I saw R2D2 following him around quite a bit. And didn't Anakin build C3-Po? Does the android not know what happened? and whydoesn't he spil the beans?

R.S.V.P.

come on peoples I don't know any french but I know how to r.s.v.p. a birthday invite especially to a kids party! It's killing me C's party is next sat. but I have only had about 5 rsvp's so far I understand if a kid can't come but I need to know how many cupcakes, gift bags, ice cream cups, drinks etc to have on hand. I go through this every year & every year is drives me a little further over the edge ..
Having a December birthday I was always a little curious about having a summer birthday & wouldn't it be fun but we seem to run into families already taking vacations.

holiday weekend

is officially over as I sit at working, goofing off & updating my blog. We really did have a good time maybe not so restful but lots of fun. My BIL hosted a crawfish boil at my MIL's house on saturday which was lots of fun and made D & I want to have another one at our house. Like last time there was way too much food left over although my mil was smart & started taking food to her neighbors and my Sil brought a bunch to the nursing home she works at. Then as I previously blogged our cookout was loads of fun, maybe too much as I did suffer a hangover most of yesterday. D was working & C's friend was visiting his grandparents who live next door so he spent most of the day at their house swimming, playing video games and something to do with guns-not real guns just ones that seem real noisy. The after party party yesterday evening was very low-key just leftovers no new cooking which means I have to find a place for the 10 lb box of ribs sitting in my fridge. I didn't exactly mean to clean up the yard but I did. The badminton net had fallen down so I decided to put it up so we could actually use it again and that started the ball rolling as far as cleaning so we have a back yard again and we don't have to follow Oscar around making sure that he doesn't pee on chairs or grills or toys. Then this morning as I got ready for work I had a panic moment or two when I couldn't find my ring. I knew I didn't wear it yesterday but it wasn't in the only 2 places I normally keep it no I found it in the kitchen where we normally throw the cell phones & keys. Yes I guess I did drink too much vodka on sunday

my forearms still hurt from squeezing a million lbs of lemons for yesterdays lemonade...

in memoriam

of meat, specifically 21 lbs of chicken, 10 lbs of ribs, 3 lbs of hotdogs & about 20 or so hamburgers. We had our annual memorial day cookout yesterday and that's the meat count plus dips, hummus, pasta salad, baked beans, my mother's famous cornbread casserole thingy(always a big hit) and various brownies, key lime pie as well as vinegar pie(ugly pie to those in the know). It was a really great party I had a lot of fun & hope everyone else did although the kitchen this morning not so fun to look out & I am considering running out to Target to get another garbage can because the 2 we have are really full & pick-up day isn't till Thursday. Rumor has a few people coming over today to eat leftovers & cook the 2nd 10 lb box of ribs which never made it out of the fridge yesterday..

Last Saturday at C's little league game just one hour in the sun reddened my scalp so I decided to pick up a baseball hat of my own instead of grabbing one from the boys. Went looking for a Yankees hat-why wouldn't I? Found a cute little pink hat with the NY Yankees emblem at Target just perfect and on clearance at that! a comment on their season? or just a pink hat merchandised in the men's section? Yesterday evening was the perfect sunny day to wear said hat at C's last game little did I know they were in fact playing the Yankees...

caffeine

I took my car this a.m. which meant switching D's stuff back to his car, getting the camp chairs for tonight's baseball game into my car, putting the back seat back up, clearing out front seat for the ride down to the bus stop. Thought we were all set started car , door ajar flashed open so I told C to check his door as I checked mine-all clear then I realized the back hatch was open. OK all set? nope door ajar I had also left the passenger back seat door open. Clearly I need lots & lots of coffee to get my through today

window day

new windows are being installed today! happy already they were scheduled to arrive at 8.30 & they rolled up at 8.32! since I am tethered to the house today I am going to start cleaning for Sunday's memorial day bash which looks to be quite the fiesta in the making
