best mis-read of my day

you know when you look at a headline quickly and see something that is not what is written on the page... I read "voted for unicorns over Fedex" which is infinitely more amusing than "voted for the unions over FedEx."

when the news makes you sick to your stomach

the entire scandal at Penn State, I was glad to see the university came to their senses & fired Paterno last night but I am curious when do the arrests start happening? seems to me quite a few people need to be charged in this horrible horrible circumstance. And the stupid kids that were rioting last night...be very ashamed at yourselves in the light of day are you that frickin stupid? can they fire the students too?

birthday traditions

we follow the typical ones birthday boy gets to choose dinner and I cooked a special breakfast. Basic stuff but the one tradition I started when C turned 1 and quite frankly it may not even interest him but it interests me so good enough for me. I am each year saving a copy of our local paper on his birthday. I have always loved history and old magazines & newspapers and I thought this was a simple yet really neat thing he could look back on someday. Of course I missed the day of his birth and quite frankly I think I may have missed last year but I need to double check that. I remembered this year it's a Sunday paper..it will be missing it's coupons

Bernie Madoff headed to court this morning in a Kia...
What the hell? As much as he stole go to court in a limo the biggest one you can find and with a wet bar. The time for humility has long passed buddy

hold your kids a little closer

and hug them a little tighter tonight.
I am out of town and logged on to see what was going on in sleepy 'ol Knoxville and I am just speechless. This sort of thing doesn't happen there and certainly not in a church my thoughts and prayers are for all of those in that church this afternoon.
